The Rebel

History, Romance, Adventure

In Dante’s Middle Ages, an opulent and corrupt Church stifles all dissent through the Inquisition. Its dogmas and taboos are challenged only by a few courageous souls like young Margherita, who joins Dolcino, an idealistic and radical preacher. Together, they create a new kind of community based on equality, brotherhood and freedom. And when the Pope’s crusaders attack, the two lovers and their followers fight back, not fearing to risk even the stake and the flames of the Inquisition to defend a utopia that will become legend.

“Dolcino and Margherita dream of a new world where women are equal to men and even sex, when loving, is a way to get closer to God. ”
