“The Eva Code” is a sci-fi thriller series which explores the challenges, risks and perspectives of manipulating human DNA from the point of view of a young geneticist, Eva Rak. Driven by an innate passion for science, Eva is one of the most gifted researchers of her generation, but she hides a secret: she has achieved her most brilliant results thanks to irrational insights which came to her in moments of a total loss of control. An anomaly that has afflicted her since she was a child, which science cannot explain and which has led her to take refuge in a shy and reserved existence. A quiet life that is destroyed by the ferocious murder of the professor who discovered her and with whom she has been working in recent years. As she flees the professor’s assassins, she learns that he had unearthed a clandestine experiment conducted in 1939 to improve the fighting skills of Italian soldiers. Following the clues contained in his notes, Eva arrives in a remote mountain village where the professor was investigating a peculiar anomaly: the death of many apparently perfectly healthy and strong inhabitants exactly as they reach 39 years of age. By reconstructing past events happened, Eva discovers that everything she knows about herself is a sophisticated falsehood and that, against all apparent logic, her genome is the same one uniting that chain of inexplicable deaths. She thus finds herself both experimenter and guinea pig, under increasing pressure as her 39th birthday looms. To survive, she must find the key to her true nature and identify what lies within her: hope for the future or potential weapon of mass destruction?
