1871: at a village fair, a ten-year-old boy is irresistibly attracted to a “new world”, a fascinating machine that was one of the forebears of the cinema. Lacking the money for a ticket, he tries desperately to get a look at the mysterious device, but when he takes advantage of a moment of distraction of its owner he ends up falling into it and being projected into a fantastic universe that will change his life, and the world – since the boy, we discover, will grow up to be cinematic pioneer Georges Méliès.
